Details for: Herzsteinweg - Yspertal No. 34
Brief description
The strange stone forms of the Yspertal have always occupied people, as numerous legends and myths prove. They have not yet revealed their secrets. The 5 m high heart stone - after which two circular hiking trails are named - reminds some of the human organ, others again - who are inclined towards geomancy and esotericism - recognise female forms and symbols of life here, they consider the granite block to be a double cult stone. In any case, it is a very interesting stop on a tour that also leads to other strange stone figures, such as the "Skull" - which can be climbed on a staircase - or the "Stone Corn Almond". A tour to remember with pleasure.
Description
Ysper - forest nature trail past stone "riding horses", "sliding stones", to the "Stone Corn Mandl" and to the rock castle "Life and Death" (= skull and dragon stone) to the heart stone.
The heart stone is a so-called slip-through stone of 5 metres, which at first glance immediately reminds one of a standing human heart. Oral tradition and old folk belief say that the heart stone is a female double cult site, since slipping through it serves fertility but also to wipe away illnesses, suffering, bad things and sins.

Route description Herzsteinweg - Yspertal No. 34
From Ysper, the trail leads along the road in the direction of St. Oswald to the entrance of the forest nature trail, continue following the markings, and after about 400 m the trail branches off to the left onto a gravel road, from where it goes uphill on beautiful forest paths through high mixed forests to the Weißenberg. There you meet up with the circular trail from St. Oswald (see tour no. 11). The stage destinations are the "Große Reitstein" and the legendary "Steinerne Kornmandl". Shortly afterwards, at the tool shed, you reach the "Totenkopf" (dead man's head) and the Weißenbergkreuz (Weissenberg cross) via a short branch path. Back to the shed, continue along the path to the imposing "Herzstein". There the paths to St. Oswald and Ysper separate again. Walking a few hundred metres in the direction of Dorfstetten, you will see the Hauswiesenmoor (special flora - please do not enter!). On the way back, you pass a few more vantage points, meet the panorama trail and the forest nature trail, and reach the market square of Ysper again.
