After 3.6 km you come to the first vantage point (magnificent view of the Schneeberg and Ötscher). Continue to the village of Ulrichschlag, where the Ballwein Inn offers a stop for refreshments (909 m). Now the trail leads to the most beautiful part of the hike: on the ascent to the Ulrichschläger Höhe you have a wonderful view of the Yspertal valley and St. Oswald, the Gesäuse and the Haller Mauern in the background. Continue on forest paths to the Ödbauer junction (after approx. 8 km).
