Sternwarte Höhenberg

The Höhenberg Observatory of the Waldviertel Astronomical Society is located in Großdietmannsdorf at an altitude of 637 meters above sea level. It consists of a five meter high brick tower and an aluminum dome - built in the style of the late 19th century and equipped with historical telescopes. A spacious parking lot surrounds the popular excursion destination. However, the observatory can be easily reached on foot - via the small planetary hiking trail. Exciting guided tours and other events are scheduled throughout the year.

Important note for all observers who come by car: Please turn off your high beams when approaching the observatory.
