Kollmitz Ruin
Ruins of a medieval fortress in the Thaya Valley.
The impressive medieval castle ruins of Kollmitz near Raabs an der Thaya were first mentioned in the 12th century and for a long time served as a boundary defence against Bohemia. The castle changed ownership several times during the course of the centuries until it was finally taken over by the municipality of Raabs an der Thaya. Two of the towers, both of which have marvellous views over the Thaya valley, are accessible to the public.
