Seven charming towns in the Waldviertel are protected by historical town walls and are just waiting for you to discover them.

Waidhofen an der Thaya, Weitra, and Zwettl all belonged to the line of defense in the Waldviertel. Today they offer us culture and culinary delights informed by a rich beer tradition. Little Drosendorf is enchanting from its picturesque perch high above the Thaya while Horn is known as the “Town of Towers”. Retz impresses visitors with its expansive central squares and Eggenburg has a special medieval flair all its own.
