Waterfalls in the Waldviertel
Massive rocks and cool water
From small streamlet to roaring deluge, the cool wetness of waterfalls in the Waldviertel has always had great appeal.
In dry times, sometimes all there is to hear is the soothing rush of water rippling under the stones on its way downstream. But after heavy rains or during thawing periods, an imposing natural spectacle can occur as water comes cascading down over the rocks. Take in the great outdoors on a hike through the romantic wilderness of the Ysperklamm ravine or the Lohnbachfall or Höllfall waterfalls accompanied by the calming rush of cool, clear water.
